Job description

About Pambo Holdings

Pambo Holdings is a venture studio focused on launching consumer businesses with bold ambitions. Although our businesses operate in various sectors, they share a commitment to thoughtful development, outstanding execution, and delivering genuine customer experiences. As a company in its early stages, this role offers a unique chance to influence not just a single company, but a portfolio of ventures.

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic operator to collaborate closely with the Founder to develop and scale these businesses. This hybrid role blends Chief of Staff, Operations Manager, Project Manager, and business builder responsibilities. Day-to-day activities might include enhancing systems in one company, conducting recruitment interviews for another, coordinating launches for projects like The Good Flea, or supporting planning for new ventures. The successful candidate will be instrumental in converting concepts into action by guiding the team throughout execution.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine operational procedures across multiple enterprises.
  • Oversee projects from initial planning through to completion.
  • Enhance workflows and internal process efficiencies.
  • Monitor and advance key business priorities and project timelines.
  • Detect and resolve operational bottlenecks.
  • Compile business reports and updates for leadership review.
  • Support the implementation of scalable systems as the businesses grow.
  • Collaborate with the Founder to focus on strategic objectives.
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable plans.
  • Coordinate cross-business execution and maintain project organization and scheduling.
  • Prepare agendas, document meetings, and manage follow-up tasks to ensure critical initiatives are completed.
  • Drive talent acquisition efforts including drafting job ads, screening applicants, coordinating and conducting interviews, guiding hiring choices, and managing new employee onboarding.
  • Lead special projects such as new product rollouts, operational enhancements, business expansions, technology integration, SOP creation, and cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Maintain alignment of team priorities, promote communication between departments, ensure project deadlines are met, and foster a culture emphasizing ownership and excellence.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant will have between two and four years of professional experience, preferably in operations, consulting, startups, project management, executive support, or business management roles involving coordination, problem-solving, and execution. More than past employment, the candidate’s mindset, ability to quickly learn, critical thinking, and ownership are key. They should naturally create order from disorder, proactively solve issues, communicate effectively and professionally, exercise sound judgment, attend to detail, comfortably alternate between strategic and hands-on tasks, thrive in fast-paced settings, self-initiate actions, and be passionately committed to quality.

Qualifications

  • Two to four years of relevant professional experience (up to five years maximum).
  • Strong skills in organization and project management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High degree of ownership and accountability.
  • Robust problem-solving aptitude.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace tools.

Preferred Assets

  • Background in startups or rapidly growing companies.
  • Experience in recruitment or hiring support.
  • Familiarity with project management platforms like Notion, ClickUp, or Asana.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple departments.

Measures of Success in Six Months

  • Accelerated project delivery.
  • Enhanced inter-team communication.
  • More organized hiring processes.
  • Strengthened operational systems.
  • Founder able to devote more focus to growth, partnerships, and strategy.
  • Increased scalability of the organization.

Additional Information

  • This is a full-time, in-office position based in Hurlingham, Kilimani, Nairobi County.
  • The role generally involves working five to six days per week.
  • Immediate start preferred.
  • Starting compensation is 45,000 Kenyan Shillings.
