About Alloy Partners
Alloy Partners is an innovative venture builder established in 2020, specializing in launching advantaged startups and venture studios through collaborations with large corporations. Having co-created over 50 companies and built more than 8 studios, Alloy's mission centers on scaling successful companies by combining corporate innovation and entrepreneurial endeavors. The team embraces boldness, a proactive mindset, and collective success.
About One Health Studio
One Health Studio is Alloy's AI-driven venture studio dedicated to advancing human, animal, and planetary health. It develops companies intersecting corporate innovation, early-stage startups, and applied AI. Their portfolio includes ventures in animal diagnostics, genomics, infectious disease detection, robotics, computer vision, and health infrastructure. The team consists of high-caliber entrepreneurs-in-residence (EIRs), savvy corporate partners, and investors with ambitious expectations.
Role Overview
This role functions as the critical operational force within One Health Studio, working closely with the Managing Director to ensure smooth studio management and portfolio company growth. The Chief of Staff oversees project deliverables, holds EIRs accountable, coordinates partner and investor relationships, and maintains operational details tightly. This execution-focused, versatile role transforms strategies into actionable processes and ensures continuous progress by maintaining essential systems, trackers, and timely follow-ups.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage studio operations by maintaining up-to-date progress across all concepts and portfolio companies including milestones, issues, EIR statuses, and partner/vendor relations.
- Provide operational support to portfolio companies during incubation by managing onboarding, research initiatives, and connecting founders to Alloy’s resources.
- Serve as the daily operational liaison for EIRs, facilitating navigation of Alloy resources and reducing operational friction.
- Handle communications and follow-ups with corporate partners, investors, academic bodies, and service providers such as CDMOs and legal firms.
- Track contracts including MOUs, EIR agreements, option agreements, and licensing deals; monitor key dates and milestones collaboratively with Legal and Finance teams.
- Prepare investor and partner updates, coordinate diligence requests, and organize essential meeting materials.
- Develop and maintain systems essential for studio operations such as onboarding playbooks, reporting templates, and communication protocols, leveraging AI tools to enhance efficiency.
- Manage high-priority one-time projects spanning research, market analysis, regulatory filings, and grant applications, stepping in whenever needed.
Candidate Profile
- Possess 5 to 7 years of post-graduate experience in dynamic environments such as venture studios, venture capital, startup operations, consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy.
- Think systematically, capable of converting strategy into scalable execution with a strong focus on delivery over planning.
- Exhibit strong initiative, recognizing and proposing solutions proactively.
- Collaborate closely and iteratively with leadership, EIRs, and Alloy’s shared services team, maintaining transparent communication.
- Thrive with minimal supervision especially in ambiguous and fast-changing contexts.
- Comfortable handling a diverse range of tasks daily, from drafting licensing terms to conducting EIR check-ins and preparing investor communications.
- Communicate clearly and succinctly in writing, meeting high standards of quality and detail.
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in health, biotechnology, or venture ecosystems.
- Be proficient with AI-powered tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Terminal), capable of incorporating them effectively from day one.
- Preferably based in, or willing to relocate to, the San Francisco Bay Area or Indianapolis.
Additional Qualifications (Preferred)
- Experience in design or product development, with an eye for how products should function and appear.
- Background working at venture studios, incubators, accelerators, or venture funds, managing diverse company portfolios.
- Knowledge of life sciences, healthtech, or animal health sectors.
- Familiarity with regulatory processes including FDA and USDA pathways or contract manufacturing organization processes.
- Experience coordinating academic partnerships or government grant programs.
Benefits
- Competitive salary complemented by an equity participation plan.
- Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- A culture that embraces remote-first work relationships.
- Unlimited paid time off policies.
- A dynamic and entrepreneurial workplace supported by a proven venture studio methodology.
- Opportunities to contribute to the creation, development, and growth of pioneering companies.
Company Values
- Boldness: Embrace ambitious ideas and challenge the status quo consistently.
- Action-Oriented: Prioritize progress and value execution to generate meaningful data and results.
- Collective Success: Foster a culture where entrepreneurs and corporate partners thrive and win together.
