Job description

About the Company

Hawk builds AI-enabled technology for anti-money laundering and fraud detection. Financial institutions and payment companies around the world use its combination of conventional rules and explainable AI to strengthen AML compliance and fraud prevention, helping them uncover more suspicious activity while cutting down false positives. The company contributes to the broader effort to combat money laundering, fraud, and the financing of terrorism, and offers a workplace built on trust, support, enthusiasm, and professional growth.

Role Purpose

As Chief of Staff to the CEO, you will help magnify the CEO’s influence across the business. You will manage the operating cadence that keeps the leadership team aligned, drive strategic initiatives from concept to execution, and ensure the CEO’s priorities are translated into concrete company action.

The role suits someone who works effectively in uncertain environments, brings structure without slowing momentum, and wants to be close to building a high-impact company focused on financial crime prevention. You will operate as an AI-first executor, using AI as the default starting point and creating agents and automated workflows wherever possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and run the executive operating rhythm, including leadership meetings and strategic reviews that keep decisions moving and the senior team coordinated.
  • Partner directly with the CEO on priority initiatives, turning broad ideas into structured plans and measurable outcomes, often across several functions and without a dedicated team.
  • Monitor and push forward OKRs and top CEO priorities, removing obstacles early and communicating progress clearly across the organization.
  • Create strong decision-making materials by distilling complex topics into clear, concise narratives.
  • Act as a trusted sounding board to the CEO and leadership group by challenging assumptions, identifying weak spots, and speaking candidly when needed.
  • Work with the broader executive team as a peer who can connect finance, product, engineering, sales, and operations, and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Coordinate the CEO’s external support network, including bankers, consultants, board advisors, communications partners, and subject-matter experts, while managing scope, deliverables, and follow-through.
  • Spot gaps, friction points, and emerging risks across execution, operating structure, team performance, and external dependencies, then personally drive solutions rather than only flagging issues.

Candidate Profile

You should bring a strong background in strategic problem-solving and operating leadership, with experience in high-growth environments and a working style that combines speed, clarity, and ownership.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, on-site role based in London, England, United Kingdom.

No salary, stipend, number of openings, start date, application deadline, or other compensation details were provided in the source.

Experience Expectations

The role asks for more than 5 years in a top strategy consulting firm, ideally in technology transformation or financial services, plus more than 3 years in a high-growth startup after Series B as an operator, Chief of Staff, or founder.

Working Style

The ideal candidate is highly comfortable with ambiguity, proactive in finding and fixing problems, persuasive without relying on authority, and fluent in using AI for research, drafting, analysis, decision support, prompt design, and agent/workflow building.

Interest Area

Curiosity about the implications of AI for financial services, compliance, and the future of companies like Hawk is important. An engineering background is not required, but close interest in how the sector is evolving is valued.
