Job description

About the Role

A growing venture firm is looking for a Chief of Staff to work side by side with leadership and serve as a key connector across strategy, operations, and execution. This is a fast-moving, high-ownership position for someone who performs well in uncertain environments and wants to help shape an investment firm from an early stage.

The role spans a broad mix of work, including investment workflow design, firm-wide planning, communications, capital markets support, and one-off strategic initiatives.

Strategic Operations

  • Create and continuously refine internal processes that support the full investment workflow.
  • Prepare and facilitate weekly investment meetings and keep firm operating rhythms organized.
  • Develop practical systems and tools such as CRM setups, Notion workspaces, and internal trackers to improve follow-through and efficiency.
  • Contribute to broader planning and strategy initiatives across the firm.

Marketing & Brand

  • Coordinate outside specialists and vendors, including PR, event partners, and fractional marketing support.
  • Help shape and implement the firm’s brand positioning and communications approach.
  • Organize events, founder dinners, and ecosystem-building activities.
  • Strengthen and nurture relationships with founders, investors, and operators in a targeted network.

Capital Markets & Secondaries

  • Assist with opportunities related to secondary transactions.
  • Work with bankers, brokers, and legal advisors to keep transaction execution moving.
  • Support investor-facing communication and other capital markets efforts.
  • Gain exposure to fundraising strategy and LP relationship management.

Firm Building & Special Projects

  • Drive or support internal initiatives such as office buildout, vendor evaluation, and budgeting.
  • Assist with recruiting and onboarding new hires.
  • Create and manage a network of external advisors.
  • Take on additional special projects as needed.

Qualifications

The firm is seeking a professional with 5 to 10 years of experience, ideally with a background in management consulting, strategy and operations, or a Chief of Staff function. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited school is required, and an MBA is preferred.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, systems-minded, and comfortable tackling complex problems in a structured way. Strong emotional intelligence, clear thinking, and solid problem-solving ability are important, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You should be ready to handle a wide range of tasks, work hands-on when needed, communicate directly with demanding stakeholders, and adapt quickly as priorities shift. Interest in AI, frontier technologies, or venture capital is also important for this role.
