Role Overview
This opportunity is with a client of ForceBrands. The role is based onsite in Charleston, South Carolina, and requires a five-day in-office presence each week. The company is a rapidly expanding consumer packaged goods business focused on premium BBQ sauces, seasonings, and rubs.
The Chief of Staff / Senior Business Manager will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership as a strategic operator and execution partner. This person will help steer cross-functional priorities, strengthen organizational performance, and keep teams aligned across sales, marketing, operations, supply chain, finance, and product development. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-moving entrepreneurial setting and able to shift between big-picture planning and hands-on execution.
What You Will Do
- Partner with the CEO to shape annual operating plans, growth initiatives, and broader business strategy.
- Track progress against revenue, margin, distribution, and operational targets.
- Create and maintain leadership dashboards, KPI reporting, and business review materials.
- Study market trends, customer behavior, competitors, and category dynamics to uncover growth opportunities.
- Support key strategic efforts such as new product launches, channel expansion, retailer growth, and process improvements.
- Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the CEO and executive team.
- Help prioritize the most important initiatives and keep attention on the highest-value work.
- Prepare board decks, investor updates, executive presentations, and other strategic communications.
- Run leadership meetings and follow through on accountability for major deliverables.
- Coordinate large-scale projects across Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and Product Development.
- Monitor project timelines, flag risks, and help remove obstacles to execution.
- Improve coordination and communication between departments.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts that make the organization more efficient and scalable.
- Support retail and commercial work by partnering with Sales leadership on retailer expansion, promotional planning, pricing, and trade spend analysis.
- Assist with distributor and broker-related initiatives.
- Evaluate customer profitability, channel performance, and growth opportunities across grocery, club, specialty, foodservice, and e-commerce.
- Work with Operations and Supply Chain teams to strengthen inventory management, forecasting, production planning, and service levels.
- Help assess co-manufacturing, sourcing, and logistics approaches.
- Support the creation of scalable processes as the business grows.
- Collaborate with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Analyze business performance and recommend ways to improve profitability and efficiency.
- Build business cases for investments, new products, and strategic initiatives.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, Marketing, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity portfolio operations, strategy, business operations, Chief of Staff, or general management roles.
- Background in CPG, food & beverage, or consumer products.
- Strong project management skills and proven experience leading across functions.
- Advanced analytical ability and financial modeling expertise.
- High proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and business intelligence tools.
- Comfort influencing stakeholders without direct reporting authority.
- Strong executive communication and presentation skills.
Work Environment
This is a full-time onsite role in Charleston, SC. The position is intended for someone who can be in the office every weekday and operate effectively in a high-growth setting.
