Chief Financial Officer

Role overview

A rapidly expanding logistics company based in Kildare is seeking a commercially minded, practical Chief Financial Officer to support the next stage of growth. The business has ambitious plans to at least triple revenue over the next 3 to 5 years, and this position will play a key role in driving scale, improving efficiency, and working closely with the founders on both strategic decisions and team development.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a finance professional who wants to have a visible impact in a high-growth, entrepreneurial setting.

Location and reporting line

The role is based onsite in Kildare, County Kildare, Ireland and reports directly to the founders.

Key responsibilities

The CFO will lead the finance function end to end, while also contributing to broader business leadership and operational performance.

Finance and strategy

• Work in partnership with the founders to shape and deliver the company’s growth plan.
• Provide commercial analysis on pricing, investment decisions, and customer profitability.
• Create robust KPIs and reporting frameworks that can support a larger, scalable business.
• Take ownership of management accounts, board packs, cash flow, budgeting, and internal controls.
• Maintain effective banking and funding relationships.
• Ensure the business stays compliant with statutory, tax, and audit requirements.

Operations and business partnering

• Collaborate with the operations team to improve productivity and margin performance.
• Review fleet, warehouse, and labour metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support pricing decisions and other important business initiatives.
• Oversee HR matters, which are also part of this role’s remit.

Requirements and expectations

The business is looking for a qualified finance leader with deep experience in operational environments and strong commercial judgement.

Experience and skills

• Qualified accountant status such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent qualification.
• Senior-level finance leadership experience in logistics, transport, supply chain, or a similar operational sector.
• A strong record of helping fast-growing organisations scale and secure funding.
• Commercially sharp thinking with the confidence to influence major strategic choices.
• A hands-on leadership approach, with the ability to switch between strategic and tactical work.
• Experience with HR oversight and/or systems transformation would be an advantage.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team development capability.
• A proactive, improvement-focused mindset suited to a fast-moving environment.

Compensation

The salary for this position is up to €150,000, with an LTIP included. A remuneration range of approximately €140,000 to €150,000 plus LTIP was also stated.

Eligibility
