Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is tasked with overseeing all financial and accounting operations to ensure compliance with company policies, international standards, and best practices globally. The role involves monitoring cash flow, analyzing financial strengths and weaknesses, and guiding the financial success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and continuously assess the company's short and long-term financial strategy and strategic financial goals, providing advice to improve financial outcomes and business opportunities.
- Offer timely and effective financial guidance to the CEO to help achieve organizational objectives.
- Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Lead all finance and accounting departments and activities.
- Oversee the preparation and control of the company's budget, ensuring funding aligns with priorities and expenses are monitored against it.
- Implement and maintain department policies and procedures for operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Direct financial governance, accounting, and reporting practices to comply with international standards, regulations, internal controls, and best practices.
- Ensure internal controls maintain accuracy of accounting records and documentation with supporting manuals and instructions.
- Manage annual budget development and monitor financial performance continuously.
- Develop financing strategies related to capital expenditure management and expected financial returns.
- Supervise financial due diligence, modeling, valuations, projections, and analyses to support acquisitions and partnerships.
- Ensure finance reporting complies with IFRS and company policies.
- Manage preparation and review of periodic financial management reports.
- Oversee treasury and cash flow management to maintain liquidity and optimal fund utilization.
- Report monthly performance insights to the CEO and Chairman, highlighting issues and recommending corrective actions.
- Model organizational values and foster a motivated, engaged workforce aligned with corporate goals.
- Monitor and communicate KPIs and ensure high performance in the finance function.
- Support ongoing professional development and performance management for all finance staff.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 15 years of professional experience with 8 years in senior managerial roles.
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Professional accounting or finance certification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or CFA is preferred.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, leadership, and organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creative thinker with sound judgment capable of making timely, informed decisions.
- High integrity, dependability, sense of urgency, and results-driven mindset.
