Job description
Role overview
Leonard Cheshire is at a significant turning point, backed by a clearer strategy, stronger financial footing, and the ability to invest in modernisation, service change, and longer-term growth.
For more than 75 years, the organisation has worked to support disabled people. As needs shift and publicly funded care becomes more demanding, it is adapting so it can stay relevant, resilient, and prepared for the future.
As Chief Financial Officer and a core member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will hold a central leadership position in this next stage. You will bring strategic financial direction that supports long-term sustainability while also helping the organisation invest with confidence in its future. Working alongside the Chief Executive, Board, and Executive Director of Operations, you will contribute to organisational strategy, strengthen collective decision-making, and help set the tone for the culture, behaviours, and cross-functional teamwork needed to deliver Leonard Cheshire’s mission.
Key responsibilities
You will lead financial strategy and ensure the organisation is positioned for long-term stability and growth. Your remit will include advising senior leadership, supporting board-level decision-making, and helping shape the wider direction of the organisation.
Candidate profile
The organisation is looking for a qualified, values-driven senior finance leader with substantial experience in complex, large-scale environments. You should have a strong track record of leading financial transformation, influencing strategy, and creating meaningful organisational impact.
