Job Overview
Reporting directly to the CEO and maintaining frequent interaction with the Principal, this role leads the consolidated financial activities of a multi-entity family office. The CFO manages a dedicated leadership team comprising the Senior Controller, Director of Philanthropic Operations, Tax Director, Estates Manager, and Fund Controller.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide ownership and oversight of the consolidated financial standing across various entities.
- Manage liquidity and capital allocation related to investments, distributions, tax obligations, and charitable grants.
- Develop and oversee tax planning and strategies.
- Ensure compliance of the private foundation in coordination with the Tax Director and Director of Philanthropic Operations.
- Maintain rigorous control systems concerning disbursements, treasury functions, and banking operations.
- Supervise investment-related functions such as capital calls, fund administration, and performance monitoring.
- Manage relationships with external consultants, including auditors, bankers, and fund administrators.
- Oversee personal asset management including real estate, aircraft, vehicles, appointments of vendors, and monitoring recurring expenditures through coordination with the Estates Manager.
Required Qualifications
- More than 10 years of experience in finance and operational leadership, ideally within a family office, foundation, or asset management environment.
- Ability to lead through senior ownership while engaging hands-on as necessary.
- Extensive expertise in managing multi-entity finances, consolidated financial reporting, liquidity planning, and internal controls.
- In-depth knowledge of partnership and investment entity structures, capital call processes, and fund administrative duties.
- Highest standards of discretion, integrity, and reliability.
Preferred Attributes
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential and prior experience with a Big Four accounting firm.
- Background in 501(c)(3) private foundation management and related tax matters.
- Experience working in a single-family office setup or managing finances in a high-net-worth, multi-entity environment.
