Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to spearhead Groome's financial planning, operational management, reporting, and capital strategy. Reporting directly to top leadership including the President, CEO, Board of Directors, and private equity sponsors, the CFO will be a pivotal business partner guiding financial direction in a growth-driven, project-intensive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Craft and implement long-term financial plans aligned with company growth goals.
- Lead budgeting cycles, forecasts, financial modeling, and generate performance reports to assist executive leadership.
- Manage daily financial operations emphasizing operational efficiency, profitability, and scalable processes.
- Oversee cash flow, working capital, and liquidity strategies supporting expansion and operational needs.
- Act as primary finance liaison for private equity sponsors, the board, lenders, and investors.
- Prepare clear financial reports, board presentations, investor updates, and lender communications.
- Lead financial due diligence for acquisition opportunities and post-merger integration strategies.
- Develop financial evaluation models for acquisition targets and strategic initiatives.
- Drive implementation and optimization of financial systems, including ERP platforms.
- Monitor financial and operational key performance indicators, including labor utilization metrics suited to a project-based business.
- Lead cost control initiatives in procurement, expenses, and operations.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks via controls, compliance policies, and insurance management.
- Support exit strategy planning through preparation for due diligence, potential sale, or IPO readiness.
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing finance team.
Qualifications
- Proven track record as CFO, VP Finance, or senior financial leader within growth-oriented firms.
- Extensive expertise in financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, modeling, and operational finance.
- Experience collaborating with private equity sponsors, boards, investors, and lending institutions.
- Demonstrated leadership in M&A financial due diligence and integration planning.
- Hands-on experience with ERP and financial system implementation or optimization.
- Strong knowledge of cash management, working capital, financial controls, compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Ability to develop actionable financial and operational KPIs and make data-driven business recommendations.
- Excellent leadership capabilities to train, develop, and guide finance teams.
- Outstanding communication skills for conveying complex financial data to executives, board members, investors, and lenders.
