Position Overview
As part of a succession plan, the group is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to assume comprehensive commercial responsibility for an international corporate group. This position merges strategic financial leadership, governance accountability, and proactive involvement in the group's ongoing development within a capital-intensive and project-driven global context. Serving as a member of the top management team, the CFO partners closely with the CEO to shape the financial direction and ensure transparency and controllability across all business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee classical CFO duties including Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Treasury, Tax, Legal, Compliance, and ideally IT functions.
- Advance an integrated control model addressing profit, cash flow, balance sheet, and risk perspectives.
- Ensure budgeting, forecasting, and steer long-term multi-year strategic planning.
- Manage liquidity, working capital, investments, and capital structure actively.
- Provide transparent and decision-relevant consolidated reporting.
- Develop KPI frameworks, reporting mechanisms, and early-warning systems further.
- Serve as the primary contact for banks, auditors, and other external stakeholders.
- Oversee governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks.
- Lead enhancements of ERP and system landscapes, digitizing financial processes.
- Support transformation, efficiency improvements, and organizational development initiatives.
- Lead and cultivate the international finance organization.
Candidate Profile
- Several years of successful leadership as CFO, financial director, or commercial manager with full financial and control accountability in an internationally active industrial company.
- Proven experience managing complex corporate groups with revenues in the high triple-digit millions to billion range.
- Expertise in accounting, controlling, treasury, financing, and tax.
- Experience handling complex corporate groups with multiple sites and business units.
- Background in capital-intensive, internationally structured business models.
- Familiarity with dealings involving international banks, auditors, and financing partners.
- Strong performance management skills, especially cash flow and corporate controlling.
- Proficient with IFRS and modern reporting and control systems.
- Fluent in both German and English, with business-level communication skills.
