Role Overview

Based in Calgary, Alberta, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and leads the finance team. This full-time, on-site position is pivotal in steering financial planning, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management to promote business expansion and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise financial reporting and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Prepare, review, and deliver financial statements to support executive and board level decision-making.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the finance team.
• Collaborate with senior leaders on strategic planning and initiatives.
• Assess and evaluate investment opportunities and manage relationships with banks and stakeholders.
• Shape and enforce risk management, cost control measures, and capital allocation strategies.
• Develop and refine scalable financial processes aligned with the company’s technology-focused and data-driven culture.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong background in corporate finance, including capital structuring and management of cash flows.
• Advanced financial planning and analytical capabilities for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
• Expert knowledge of financial statements, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and audit processes.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing finance teams and collaborating with executives within growth-driven organizations.
• Experience in technology sectors, rapidly expanding SaaS companies, or multinational financial environments is advantageous.
• Highly proficient with financial systems, ERP software, and data analytics platforms.
• Excellent skills in communication, stakeholder engagement, and presenting complex financial information clearly.
• Possession of professional credentials such as CPA, CFA, or equivalents, along with a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related fields; MBA considered a plus.
