Following a strategic acquisition by a global enterprise specializing in marine technology and sustainable fishing, the company is poised for significant international growth. This leadership role offers the opportunity to steer a premier scientific organization through its next phase of expansion, balancing scientific excellence with dynamic commercial software operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement global growth strategies aligning the company’s technical developments with the wider group's vision for marine innovation.
  • Take full responsibility for profit and loss, driving sustainable revenue expansion and profitability within an international corporate framework.
  • Lead worldwide sales and distribution initiatives, exploring new markets including aquaculture, renewable energy, and climate research.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and execute technology synergies, integrating specialized knowledge into broader sustainability solutions.
  • Supervise the evolution of the software platform to maintain its industry-leading status while enhancing AI integration and real-time data capabilities.
  • Serve as the main point of contact with the international board, offering clear reporting on operational progress from Australian operations.
  • Inspire and guide a specialized team of scientists and software developers, nurturing a culture of innovation to attract elite global talent.
  • Ensure compliance with governance requirements both locally and within the global parent organization.

Core Skills and Competencies

  • Proven leadership experience as a CEO or senior executive in fast-growing technology, SaaS, or scientific software fields.
  • Strong commercial expertise with demonstrated success managing P&L and expanding sales in global markets.
  • Capability to navigate multinational ownership structures and integrate local entities within a larger group.
  • Technical proficiency enabling effective communication with a science-driven workforce, translating engineering excellence into business value.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication, adept at reporting to international boards and managing diverse jurisdictional demands.
  • Forward-thinking approach with passion for marine technologies and cutting-edge application of AI and real-time analytics.
