About the Role
Hume Bank, one of Australia's largest regional customer-owned banks serving approximately 60,000 members across Southern New South Wales, North-East Victoria, and Geelong, is inviting applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer. This leadership role comes at a critical juncture following significant growth, the enhancement of capabilities, and a successful merger with Geelong Bank. The CEO will be responsible for consolidating progress, elevating organizational performance, and ensuring the bank's sustainable long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong senior executive leadership within a regulated financial services environment, ideally with experience in banking or mutual banking sectors.
- Demonstrate exceptional commercial judgment and regulatory credibility while balancing member value with community impact.
- Lead, engage, and develop a workforce of over 200 employees across Hume Bank's regions.
- Foster a culture centered on accountability, service excellence, and collaboration among all staff.
- Serve as a visible ambassador for Hume Bank, strengthening relationships with employees, members, and local communities.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Proven senior executive leadership experience in a regulated financial services context, preferably within banking or mutual banking.
- Strong commercial acumen and sound regulatory understanding.
- Ability to balance the delivery of member benefits with positive community outcomes.
- Inspirational leadership that motivates and develops a diverse team.
