Job description

Company Overview

Timber Prism creates responsibly sourced wooden furniture and home decor that combine lasting style with environmentally conscious materials. The brand is centered on quality craftsmanship, durable products, and designs that suit both contemporary and traditional spaces while reducing environmental impact. It offers a mission-led environment for people who care about sustainability, strong product standards, and long-term customer relationships.

Role Overview

The Chief Business Officer is a full-time remote leadership position focused on shaping Timber Prism’s business direction, day-to-day operations, and growth agenda. This person will manage financial planning, budgeting, and performance reviews to support healthy profitability while staying aligned with the company’s sustainability-driven mission.

The role is also responsible for advancing business development by spotting new markets, building strategic partnerships, and identifying growth opportunities in sustainable furniture and home decor. In close partnership with cross-functional teams, the CBO will help define pricing, product positioning, and launch strategy, while also setting the systems and KPIs needed to improve operational effectiveness.

In addition, this leader will advise senior management on risks and opportunities, guide key strategic initiatives, and support team development by mentoring employees and strengthening scalable business processes.

Qualifications

  • Strong ability to analyze data, assess business results, and use insights to guide decisions.
  • Hands-on experience with finance functions such as budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and profit-and-loss oversight.
  • Proven business development background with experience in partnerships, market expansion, and revenue growth.
  • Consulting or management consulting experience, including problem-solving, strategy design, and execution support.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with experience working across remote and cross-functional groups.
  • Clear communication and negotiation abilities, including stakeholder influence and external representation.
  • Experience in consumer goods, furniture, home decor, or sustainability-led businesses is an advantage.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline is required; an MBA or similar advanced degree is a plus.
