The company invests heavily in people development, offering learning opportunities, AI learning resources, and career pathways designed to help employees grow and contribute to future progress.
The culture is built around people, inclusion, and continuous development, with a strong emphasis on creating an environment where curiosity and capability can thrive.
Role overview
As a Channel Scheduling Specialist - Retail, you will help ensure frontline retail teams are rostered effectively so customers receive a smooth omni-channel experience. You will partner with the Senior Scheduling Specialist to coordinate daily scheduling across touch, talk, and type channels, keeping rosters accurate, compliant, and aligned with customer demand, store trading patterns, and wider business needs.
This role suits someone who is highly organised, detail-oriented, and composed in fast-moving situations. You will support right-first-time capability across retail, contribute to multi-skilled team support, and look for practical ways to simplify or automate scheduling work so the process becomes more efficient and responsive.
Key responsibilities
- Keep workforce schedules up to date in line with daily and weekly operational needs, while following New Zealand employment legislation and internal policy requirements.
- Sort and action incoming requests from shared inboxes and team email channels so scheduling tasks continue to move forward without delay.
- Spot opportunities to improve scheduling workflows and help lift productivity and operational effectiveness.
- Prepare and share regular reports for stakeholders covering workforce utilisation, schedule adherence, overtime, and absenteeism.
- Communicate practical, clear schedules to frontline teams as early as possible.
Skills and experience
You should bring proven scheduling or workforce management experience in a retail or customer-facing setting, along with strong problem-solving, organisation, and communication skills. The role also calls for the ability to interpret data for scheduling decisions, confidence working in high-volume environments with changing priorities, and a solid understanding of New Zealand labour law and retail compliance. Accuracy, efficiency, and a mindset for continuous improvement are important.
Benefits
- Flexible working arrangements are available in many roles, including the ability to work from home and adjust hours to better balance work and whānau commitments.
- Fully subsidised Southern Cross health insurance for you and your family.
- Lifestyle leave, with the option to buy an additional one or two weeks of annual leave.
- Discounts on One NZ products and services, plus other offers.
