- Take ownership of mechanical design and integration for in-house manufactured parts, while managing interfaces for externally sourced components.
- Prepare installation outputs such as technical specifications, 3D/2D drawings, and validation plans.
- Participate in first-train mounting checks to confirm design readiness and support production launch.
Design and Integration Leadership
- Make sure the installation design satisfies functional, safety, and maintainability expectations.
- Work with engineering, industrialization, and production teams to confirm manufacturability and practical assembly.
- Track design advancement, manage technical risks, and maintain configuration control for the assigned scope.
- Assist with design reviews, prototype verification, and issue resolution.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the main technical point of contact between internal engineering groups and external suppliers.
- Support clear communication among design, production, and quality teams so that alignment and closure happen smoothly.
- Encourage ongoing improvement by applying lessons learned and feeding them back into the process.
Technical Competencies
- Hands-on background in sheet metal design and metallic material applications.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing and assembly methods such as welding, bolting, and fastening.
- Comfort using CAD and PLM platforms such as CATIA V5, 3D Experience, and ENOVIA, or equivalent tools.
- Strong grasp of mechanical integration and industrial installation practices.
- Good understanding of design-to-manufacture workflows and mechanical validation techniques.
- Operational English skills for reading, writing, and technical communication.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Production, or Systems Engineering.
- At least 10 years of experience in mechanical design and installation development, ideally in railway, aerospace, or industrial environments.
- Demonstrated leadership in integration work, supplier coordination, and first-train or first-article installation reviews.
