Job Overview
At KiK Textilien und Non-Food GmbH, the Category Manager plays a key role in managing an extensive product range, continuously evolving it with new ideas and staying ahead of current trends. This position encompasses product development, including sampling, supplier selection, ordering and follow-up, to keep customers delighted with fresh and attractive assortments.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full accountability for sales and profitability of assigned merchandise categories.
- Analyze, prepare, evaluate, and manage economic key performance indicators, including budget responsibility and limit planning in cooperation with merchandise planning.
- Define and implement assortment strategies to ensure a competitive and customer-centric product offering.
- Conduct market analyses to spot industry and consumer trends, applying these insights to assortment design and product development.
- Oversee price setting and pricing strategy for the product category.
- Manage assortment purchasing while ensuring adherence to all relevant KPIs.
- Lead a team with subject-matter expertise and commit to their professional development.
- Undertake business trips to sourcing countries as part of procurement activities.
- Collaborate closely with departments such as design, sales, merchandise planning & management, supply chain management, marketing, and strategic purchasing.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completed academic degree in business or equivalent commercial training.
- Experience within purchasing, procurement, or inventory management in the apparel industry.
- Proficient user of MS Office applications.
- Fluent in English both spoken and written.
- Willingness to travel for work.
