Job description

Role Overview

As the Category Executive for Pharma, you will own the day-to-day performance and growth of the pharmaceutical assortment. The role focuses on improving product selection, keeping stock and listings accurate, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring the category follows all applicable healthcare rules. You will work closely with teams across the business to strengthen sales, product availability, and customer satisfaction.

Category Growth and Management

  • Shape and execute plans to grow the pharma category.
  • Review assortment quality, product availability, and overall category performance.
  • Monitor key indicators such as sales trends and customer feedback.
  • Study market movements and emerging category trends to guide decisions.

Supplier and Vendor Coordination

  • Develop productive relationships with pharmaceutical suppliers and distributors.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, including pricing and contract conditions.
  • Work to secure timely deliveries and attractive product offerings.

Compliance and Regulatory Control

  • Ensure products meet the required licensing and regulatory standards.
  • Stay current with healthcare-related regulations and updates.
  • Coordinate with legal and compliance teams whenever support is needed.

Inventory and Stock Handling

  • Track inventory levels to avoid shortages and overstock situations.
  • Manage returns, damaged items, and expired stock according to procedure.

Product Listing and Customer Experience

  • Keep product information complete, accurate, and up to date.
  • Improve visibility of listings and support stronger customer engagement.
  • Respond to customer reviews and feedback in a timely manner.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Analyze sales and customer data to assess category health.
  • Prepare recurring performance updates for leadership.
  • Use insights to refine promotions, category tactics, and growth plans.

Promotions and Campaign Support

  • Support the planning and execution of seasonal and sales promotions.
  • Partner with marketing teams on customer-focused offers and content.
  • Help run campaigns for high-demand periods such as flu season and health awareness events.

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline is required.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in category management, e-commerce, or retail is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations is important for success in this role.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building abilities are essential.
  • You should be comfortable with analysis, reporting, and cross-functional teamwork.
