Job description
Role Overview
This position sits within a central procurement team in Delhi and focuses on IT sourcing and category buying. The role is responsible for building bills of quantities with the user team, shaping the procurement plan, coordinating with vendors, arranging payment and rollout schedules, and driving timely order fulfilment so projects are delivered on quality, cost, and timeline targets. It involves close interaction with stakeholders and suppliers across multiple locations and contributes directly to wider business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with internal stakeholders to define purchasing needs, track timelines and budgets, and make sure sourcing aligns with savings goals and other strategic priorities.
- Lead vendor negotiations, benchmark market prices, secure competitive commercial terms, and improve supplier cost performance over time.
- Handle RFI/RFQ activity, identify suitable suppliers, manage contracts and governance, reconcile vendor accounts, assess supplier performance, and support expansion of the supplier base. This may also include new product development and trial execution.
- Oversee operational follow-through by addressing conflicts, resolving escalations, maintaining user satisfaction, keeping records aligned with internal and external audit standards, reviewing delivery timelines, working within SAP MM, managing inventory, and ensuring import processes remain compliant.
- Coordinate logistics by confirming orders with vendors, preparing internal approval notes, getting required sign-offs, finalizing legal terms, working with finance and legal teams, arranging kick-off meetings for handover, and resolving supplier-related issues raised during implementation.
- Manage contract execution by monitoring vendor deliveries against released orders, following up on pending actions, handling changes in user requirements during implementation, communicating updates to suppliers, and coordinating with finance to ensure payments are processed on time.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in procurement, especially in capital expenditure, vendor management, and IT procurement.
- Educational background of B.E. or B.Tech, along with an MBA.
- Strong capability in negotiation, supplier coordination, contract handling, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Working knowledge of procurement operations, audit-compliant documentation, SAP MM, inventory control, and import-related compliance.
