Job description

Role overview

Sony Australia & New Zealand is seeking an experienced Account Manager to take ownership of the Home Entertainment category, focused on TVs and soundbars. In this position, you will help grow strategic retail accounts and improve category outcomes across major partner networks. The role may be based in Sydney or Melbourne, and it requires regular interstate travel depending on where you are located.

What you will do

  • Strengthen and maintain productive relationships with key buyers and customers through consistent engagement and account leadership.
  • Create and carry out account strategies for large retail partners, including assortment planning, catalogue participation and promotional execution.
  • Spot new market opportunities and build monthly, quarterly and annual business plans designed to deliver sales and profit objectives.
  • Use sell-through information, stock-on-hand data and market trends to develop customer forecasts.
  • Oversee the rollout of marketing and promotional plans across retail accounts to ensure strong execution.
  • Plan, negotiate and track commercial investments so sell-through and return on investment are maximised.
  • Review sales results against budget, watch trends, product mix and forecast accuracy, and apply corrective actions when performance shifts.
  • Act as the customer advocate within the Category Team so customer needs are built into planning decisions.
  • Guide and support the Field Sales Team and distributor partners to help ensure strong in-market execution.

What we are looking for

  • A results-driven approach and a strong desire to convert Sony’s brand strength into sales growth.
  • A solid history of sales success, along with proven stakeholder management, commercial judgement, and the ability to persuade and negotiate effectively.
  • Previous experience in the consumer electronics sector and strong product knowledge.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing abilities, plus experience in business development.
  • The resilience to work within demanding timelines and manage challenges effectively.
  • Confidence using PSI and forecasting/business modelling tools.
  • Advanced Excel capability and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Why this role stands out

You will join a high-performing team with access to training, development and the opportunity to build a long-term career. Sony offers a fast-moving environment with ambitious goals, while also valuing achievement, teamwork, flexibility and a positive culture. Benefits include hybrid working arrangements, product discounts and additional employee perks.
