Job description
Overview
Dorset Council is seeking to grow its group of casual Invigilators to assist within the examinations office at schools during the academic year. This role involves supporting the smooth operation of both public and internal exams. Applicants should be vigilant, organised, dependable, detail-oriented, and maintain composure under pressure. Flexibility to accept short-notice shifts is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Oversee students during public and internal examination sessions.
- Manage candidates with scheduling conflicts between exam sittings.
- Set up examination rooms as required.
- Distribute and collect exam materials ensuring compliance with regulations.
Work Pattern
This role is casual with working hours agreed upon for each examination period. Key exam months include November, January through June. Sessions may be full or partial days, with start times potentially before 8:00 AM and finishing after 3:30 PM.

Additional Information
The role is subject to safeguarding checks including a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) screening. Compliance with safeguarding practices, including online candidate vetting, is mandatory.
