Position Overview

Working as a Cashier at Walmart Canada offers the opportunity to enhance your retail and customer service skills. This role involves delivering excellent customer service during checkout to encourage repeat business. Cashiers also play a key role in asset protection by maintaining sharp attention to detail and following company loss prevention protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet every customer warmly and courteously.
• Efficiently process purchase transactions including merchandise deactivation according to the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) Program.
• Promote Walmart's sponsor programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charity initiatives.
• Assist customers by bagging and loading their purchases.
• Adhere to safe working practices, including proper lifting techniques and maintaining a tidy work environment.
• Ensure register security by carefully handling cash, complying with company policies, and remaining alert to surroundings.
• Refer specific service or transaction inquiries to a Customer Service Manager when necessary.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $17.75.
