About the Role

Joining Walmart Canada as a Cashier provides an excellent opportunity to build valuable experience within the retail sector. The Cashier plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service during the checkout process, which fosters customer loyalty. This position also involves protecting company assets by maintaining strong attention to detail and ensuring loss prevention.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome every customer warmly with politeness and friendliness.
• Efficiently handle all purchase transactions, including the deactivation of merchandise according to the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) program.
• Promote company-sponsored initiatives such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable campaigns.
• Assist customers with packing and loading their purchased items.
• Adhere to safe working practices, including proper lifting procedures and maintaining a tidy work environment.
• Ensure the security and integrity of cash registers by carefully managing cash, following company policies, and staying aware of surroundings.
• Direct customers to a Customer Service Manager for appropriate transactional or service requests.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $16.15 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
