Job description
Role overview
An opportunity is open within the Cargo Operations team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, for a Cargo Freighter Operations Supervisor. The position focuses on keeping cargo freighter operations efficient, coordinated, and compliant across the assigned station and wider region.
Key responsibilities
You will work closely with Sales/GSA and GHA teams to ensure bookings are prioritized correctly, freight booking instructions are communicated clearly, and special cargo is handled in the right way. You will also make sure pre-alerts are sent on time.
The role involves introducing and supporting initiatives that improve service quality while lowering operational costs in the region. You will be expected to maintain thorough station-level reporting to identify and escalate non-conformances for all relevant stakeholders in the supply chain, including GHA, GSA/Sales, booking discrepancies, ramp activities, and hub-related import issues.
All irregularities must be captured centrally in CROAMIS. In addition, you will be responsible for protecting freighter on-time performance by ensuring ground operations do not cause delays, and by arranging all station-level requirements well in advance.
You will also help minimize discrepancies and non-conformances to reduce claims and penalties, improve customer satisfaction, and limit carrier liability.
Qualifications and experience
The role calls for a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification, along with at least 4 years of experience in air cargo management.
Applicants should have demonstrated hands-on experience in aircraft turnaround coordination and warehouse handling. Knowledge of dangerous goods procedures, live animal certifications, and aircraft weight and balance is also required.
A strong command of both written and spoken English is essential.
About the employer
This opportunity is with a global aviation group that has expanded from a fleet of four aircraft into a multi-business organization delivering services across 12 different businesses. The company emphasizes growth, ambition, and continuous improvement, and encourages people to take on challenging work as part of an international team.
