Role overview

The selected candidate will join the Singapore Sales (Cargo) team within the Cargo Division. This role focuses on driving freight revenue and supporting station performance targets such as revenue, loads, and load factor, as set by the Sales & Marketing Division.

Key responsibilities

  • Track revenue and tonnage outcomes, and help support station-level performance goals.
  • Observe forwarder activity, collect competitive and key account market insights, and use that information to shape sales actions.
  • Keep regular contact with freight forwarders and assist with customer requests that may arise outside standard working hours.
  • Handle Cargo Space Management requests by reaching out to forwarders for additional support on weak flights when required.
  • Monitor local cargo demand and market conditions through ongoing conversations with forwarders.
  • Act as the main point of contact for assigned key forwarders and take ownership of their account performance.
  • Work with SIN reservation teams to help secure space, and escalate issues to the Sales Manager when needed.
  • Bring together allocation requests and submit them to the relevant regional Supervisors and Sales Managers.
  • Coordinate with operations teams to confirm shipment loadability and space needs before requesting capacity.
  • Liaise with destination stations on operational and technical matters such as security, trucking, equipment, weight restrictions, and clearance requirements.
  • Support internal discussions on pricing-related items including trucking, interline, and cool room charges to keep shipments moving.
  • Work across functions to secure capacity and trucking arrangements.
  • Partner with the Sales Support and account teams to prepare contracts and ad hoc shipment ratings, and to check and verify post-flight billing disputes.

Requirements

  • A diploma in Logistics, Marketing, Business, Sales, or a related field is required.
  • Prior experience in the air cargo industry, especially in sales and account servicing, is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle are preferred.
  • Good knowledge of local air cargo operations is expected.
  • Comfortable using workplace systems and software such as MS Word, Excel, SFM, and similar tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are important.
  • Good negotiation and analytical capability is needed.
  • A customer-first, service-oriented mindset is required.
  • Ability to persuade stakeholders effectively is essential.
