Role overview
Howard Center is looking for a Career Coach for Project Hire in Burlington, Vermont. This position supports people with intellectual disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorder in finding and keeping meaningful, competitively paid work.
What the role involves
- Create individualized employment pathways tailored to each client’s goals and needs.
- Reach out to employers, explain the services offered through Project Hire, and help build job opportunities.
- Provide coaching on the job and continue offering support to clients and, when needed, to their supervisors or job coaches.
- Prepare required records and keep the client’s support team informed and aligned.
Requirements
- A combined total of at least two years of relevant education, experience, and/or skills in human services or a similar field.
- A valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, and a clean/acceptable driving record.
- Ability to transport clients as part of the job.
Position details
This is a full-time, non-exempt role with a 37.5-hour workweek. The position is represented by the AFSCME union, and union dues apply. Pay starts at $21.79 per hour, with final compensation depending on experience.
