Role Overview

The Reconciliation Specialist role is a full-time, on-premise position located in Tirana. The specialist is responsible for conducting daily reconciliations between the bank’s internal records and external financial statements, promptly identifying and investigating discrepancies. Collaboration with accounting and finance teams to rectify posting errors and maintain thorough reconciliation records for audit compliance is essential. The role also involves preparing periodic reports, assisting with month-end and year-end financial close processes, and adhering strictly to internal control and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily reconciliation of accounts, particularly for cards and ATM transactions, ensuring accuracy between internal and external records.
• Analyse and resolve discrepancies by investigating variances and working closely with related teams.
• Prepare detailed reconciliation reports and documentation supporting audit, compliance, and closing activities.
• Follow regulatory requirements and internal control policies systematically to maintain data integrity.
• Contribute to process enhancements and assist in deploying new systems or reconciliation tools.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to clarify findings and support operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Strong analytical abilities to detect and investigate financial discrepancies and interpret related data.
• Solid foundation in accounting and finance principles, particularly understanding banking transactions and ledger structures.
• Previous hands-on experience in account reconciliation, including daily reconciliations and preparation for financial close.
• Clear and effective communication skills for teamwork and report generation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related discipline preferred.
• Prior experience in banking or financial services sectors focusing on reconciliation or operational roles is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with core banking or ERP software.
• Exceptional attention to detail, integrity, and ability to meet deadlines accurately under pressure.
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Albanian languages.
