Overview

Are you passionate about tourism and providing exceptional accommodation services? This role seeks a dedicated Caravan Park Manager to oversee daily operations of a Council-owned caravan park located in Mudgee, New South Wales. The position emphasizes excellent customer service, strong leadership, and diligent management of resources to ensure high-quality experiences for park residents and guests.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver superior services to park residents in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Perform weekly facility inspections to ensure pristine site presentation and compliance with operational duties.
  • Manage materials, consumables, grounds upkeep, building maintenance, and financial assets efficiently conforming to Council policies.
  • Maintain positive engagement with residents by attending meetings and proactively addressing potential concerns.
  • Supervise contractors to ensure compliance with their contractual obligations.
  • Oversee staff management including timesheet processing, performance reviews, and scheduling.
  • Handle collection of outstanding payments and ensure guest rates align with Council-approved pricing.
  • Maximize revenue by ensuring cabins are serviced promptly and rates optimized.
  • Implement cash handling procedures in strict adherence to Council guidelines.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of relevant legislation, including Residential (Land Lease) Communities Act 2013, Residential Tenancies Act 2010, and Local Government regulations, to address queries effectively.
  • Collaborate on annual budget preparation and management, providing necessary documentation and cost assessments.
  • Document, respond to, and file all issues systematically in the Council's Records Management System.
  • Ensure all practices comply with lease arrangements and applicable industry legislation and codes of practice.
  • Manage utility meter readings and timely billing coordination.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in managing and maintaining buildings and grounds, ideally within a caravan park setting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills enabling juggling of multiple tasks and adherence to deadlines.
  • Proficiency in administrative tasks and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • Well-versed with Residential (Land Lease) Communities Act 2013, Residential Tenancies Act 2010, Local Government Act 1993, and associated regulations and industry standards.
  • Experience handling budgetary processes and financial management, including accurate record-keeping and account payments.
  • Possession of a valid Class C Driver’s Licence and a current First Aid Certificate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong negotiation and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Willingness to work outside standard hours when necessary.

Additional Information

The role is based in Mudgee, offering options for flexible work arrangements and eligibility for long service leave after five years. Part-time job sharing arrangements will be considered. The remuneration package ranges between $83,512 and $93,990 annually, plus superannuation, depending on qualifications and experience.
