Job overview
Listers Group is hiring a Car Sales Executive for its Volkswagen dealership in Coventry. This is an on-site, full-time position focused on helping customers find the right vehicle and guiding them smoothly through the buying journey.
Working hours
The role follows a Monday to Saturday schedule, with one day off during the week, and Sundays worked on a rota. Usual hours are 8:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturdays, and 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sundays.
What the role involves
- Creating a strong first impression and building trust with every customer.
- Understanding customer needs and matching them with the right vehicle, features, and optional extras.
- Handling the sales process from initial interest through finance and contract completion with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Generating business through prospecting, follow-up calls, inbound phone enquiries, showroom visitors, and online enquiries.
- Working towards monthly targets for unit sales, profit per unit, finance penetration, and add-on products.
- Collecting customer and vehicle information accurately and following FCA and data protection requirements.
Candidate profile
This opportunity may suit someone with experience as a car sales executive, retail manager, or sales manager. A strong record of meeting and surpassing targets is important, along with the ability to quickly build rapport with customers. Applicants should be motivated to develop a long-term career in the motor trade. A valid UK driving licence is required, and while motor trade, automotive, or dealership experience is preferred, it is not essential because training will be provided.
