Job description

About the company

Agena Group is a parking and technology-led management business operating across more than 9,000 sites in housing, healthcare, education, and commercial environments. The organisation is Carbon Neutral Britain certified and focused on delivering positive outcomes for customers, communities, and employees. It is expanding fast, investing in technology, and entering new sectors, creating room for people who want to contribute to a growing business.

Role overview

This position is for a Mobile Car Park Warden covering car park locations around Birmingham and Coventry. You will use your own vehicle to move between sites, patrol parking areas, check vehicles, and issue Parking Charge Notices where private land rules are not being followed.

You may cover as many as 20 sites in a single shift and could travel up to 100 miles in a day. The job is active and outdoors-based, with regular contact with the public and a strong focus on frontline service.

Working pattern

Shift times are 6:00am to 2:00pm and 2:00pm to 10:00pm. The role is 40 hours per week on a fixed rota. Weekend availability is required, and all shifts form part of the rota, so full flexibility is needed. Travel will start from your home address within a Birmingham postcode area.

Training and support

Prior experience in a similar role is helpful but not compulsory. Full induction, training, guidance, and ongoing support are provided. Training includes health and safety and conflict resolution. You will also be issued a uniform and any equipment needed to carry out the role.

Pay and bonus

The salary is £26,436.80 per year, based on a 40-hour working week. There is also a performance-related bonus scheme. Mileage is paid at 0.25p per mile. A retention bonus of £500 is available across the first 6 months: £200 after month 3 and £300 after month 6, subject to satisfactory performance and completion of performance reviews. Full terms and conditions will be provided in writing after joining.

Benefits

Benefits available through the company’s rewards platform include discounts on gym memberships, travel bookings, high street vouchers, and days out, along with technology, wellness, healthcare, and car lease benefits. Additional perks include long-service holiday increases, 2 volunteering days per year, learning and development support, apprenticeship opportunities, 24/7 confidential employee assistance, cycle-to-work access, EV charging points at office sites, and regular social and team activities such as charity breakfasts, local office drinks, book clubs, environmental initiatives, and lunch-and-learn sessions.

Values and culture

The organisation describes its approach as ambitious, disruptive, ethical, insightful, collaborative, and innovative. It also states that it is certified Carbon Neutral and holds ISO accreditations for Quality Management, Environmental Management, and Information Security Management. The company is a Mindful Employer and supports mental health at work.

Inclusion and recruitment information

The employer is part of the Disability Confident scheme and aims to make recruitment inclusive and accessible. Reasonable adjustments can be provided for applicants who are neurodiverse, have a disability, or have a long-term condition. Alternative-format job information is available on request. Candidates with unspent convictions are welcome to apply. Where relevant, a DBS check may be carried out, and with consent the company may speak with a probation officer. Each disclosure is reviewed individually and a criminal record will not automatically rule out an applicant.

Applicant requirements

Applications are only accepted from people living in Birmingham postcode areas. Applicants must be 18 or over. Because of the nature of the role, you need your own car, a full valid UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points, and a willingness to arrange business insurance so the vehicle can be used for work. Comfort with driving is important because it forms a major part of the job.

The employer is unable to accept applications from people living in WV, DY, CV, or DE postcode areas under its local recruitment policy.

Who this role suits

This job may suit someone who enjoys working outdoors, communicates well with the public, can remain calm in challenging situations, and has experience in target-driven work, driving roles, security, or patrol-based work.
