About the Company

Fogo Island Inn is a 29-room luxury property on Fogo Island that operates with a strong focus on sustainability and respect for the local natural environment and culture. It is part of Relais & Châteaux and holds Three MICHELIN Keys. The Inn is a community-owned asset managed by the charity Shorefast, and all operating surplus is reinvested into Shorefast’s work to support a resilient future for Fogo Island.

The organization has received notable international attention, including coverage on 60 Minutes and recognition in The New York Times’ 52 Places for a Changed World. Shorefast’s mission is to develop, learn from, and share economic development practices that strengthen the unique assets of local communities, beginning with Fogo Island.

The role is based in Main Point, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

Role Overview

As a Car Detailer, you will help create a clean, comfortable, and welcoming experience for both guests and team members. This position suits someone who enjoys cleaning work, pays close attention to detail, and brings a dependable work ethic. You should be comfortable working on your own as well as collaborating with others.

Key Duties

• Clean all Inn vehicles thoroughly, both inside and outside, and ensure they are refueled.
• Record vehicle information on the provided forms or sheets and monitor when servicing is due, such as oil changes.
• Check vehicles in and out for use by Guest Services.
• Support other tasks when business is slow, such as moving or shuttling vehicles as requested.
• Keep vehicle-cleaning supplies stocked and ready for use.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Canadian driver’s licence.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
