Cancer Directorate Operations Manager Grade VIII

Role overview

The Cancer Directorate Operations Manager at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital will work with the Directorate Chair, Lead Clinicians, and Directorate Nurse Manager to drive the delivery of strategic priorities and support the smooth running and ongoing development of services within the directorate.

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this position focuses on partnership working with clinical and management leaders to strengthen patient services, improve quality, and make better use of available resources. The successful person will be expected to question current ways of working and contribute fresh ideas that help the hospital meet its objectives.

Key responsibilities

Lead operational improvement work across the cancer directorate in collaboration with the Directorate Chair, Directorate Nurse Manager, and lead clinicians.

Support the ongoing enhancement of service quality for patients by aligning services with best-practice standards.

Improve service efficiency and effectiveness while working within the resources available.

Contribute to the redesign of services and promote new approaches to meeting organisational goals.
