Position overview
This role at Walmart Canada is centered on keeping shopping carts organized and readily available while supporting a positive customer experience. As a Stockperson/Cartpusher, you will gather carts from the cart corrals, parking areas, and around the store, then return them to a secure storage area using approved procedures. The position is suited to someone interested in retail or customer service and looking to build practical skills in a store environment.
What you will do
- Collect shopping carts from the cart corrals, parking lot, and store perimeter, then return them to the designated storage area following approved store procedures and completing any required logs.
- Assist customers at registers when needed, including carrying items in or out and checking receipts to confirm proof of purchase.
- Carry out occasional restroom cleaning and upkeep, handle cleaning chemicals safely, follow disposal instructions, and use power equipment only after completing the required inspection checks.
- Follow workplace safety and emergency rules, including procedures related to hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and blood-borne pathogens.
- Keep the Cart Retrieval Log updated at the Customer Service Desk.
- Help maintain a safe, tidy, and hazard-free work area by following company policies and operating procedures.
- Wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toe footwear and a reflective vest, especially during cart collection for better visibility.
- Perform safety sweeps whenever required.
Compensation
The starting wage for this position is $16.50 per hour.
