About the role

This opportunity is for an enthusiastic Barista to join a Tesco Café team in Hornsea, supporting a welcoming café experience for customers looking for quality drinks and friendly service. You will prepare coffee, tea, and seasonal beverages, help maintain a smooth service flow, and contribute to a positive experience for every customer.

The role suits someone with barista experience or a background in hospitality who is ready to share knowledge with teammates. You will keep yourself familiar with menu items and new initiatives, monitor stock levels, and serve efficiently while taking customer needs into account. You will also support the development of other baristas, work alongside the Café Manager, and use Tesco learning resources to build your own skills.

This role requires applicants to be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold drinks promptly and accurately.
• Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining service quality.
• Follow food hygiene and safety rules at all times.
• Check stock levels regularly and work in line with company policies and procedures.
• Support the Café Manager in identifying colleagues who may benefit from barista development.
• Stay informed about company communications, menu updates, offers, and new initiatives.
• Handle customer concerns and resolve complaints wherever possible.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a barista or in a hospitality setting.
• Strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to coach and train colleagues in an inclusive way.
• Good planning and organisational ability.
• Confidence to use initiative and adapt to changing situations.
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with colleagues and the Café Manager.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
