Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled CAD Operator specialized in cutting and moulding operations within the women's innerwear production sector. The candidate will be responsible for planning, optimizing, and coordinating fabric cutting and moulding activities to improve efficiency and ensure timely output.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize fabric markers to ensure maximum fabric utilization and minimize waste.
- Accurately compute fabric consumption per design style, size variations, and across marker plans to support costing and procurement functions.
- Create cutting layouts and collaborate with the cutting floor team to guarantee efficient execution of cutting schedules.
- Plan layups in accordance with production orders while taking fabric width, shrinkage, and other variations into account.
- Assist the moulding department in scheduling cut parts specifically for bra cups and moulded components.
- Document and maintain records reflecting marker efficiency, fabric consumption, and data for cut orders.
- Ensure prompt and accurate data entry into cutting reports and Management Information Systems (MIS).
Experience and Skills Required
- Possesses 3 to 5 years of experience as a CAD Operator, preferably within the garment manufacturing industry focusing on cutting departments.
- Proficient in CAD software such as Gemini CAD or Morgan CAD; familiarity with Lectra, Gerber, or Optitex is advantageous.
- Strong capability to calculate fabric consumption accurately is crucial for this role.
- Experience working with innerwear, knitwear, or stretch fabric categories is highly preferred.
- Good understanding of fabric characteristics including behavior under shrinkage, variations in width, and grain alignment.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel to support reporting and tracking responsibilities.
