CAD Drafter

About the Role

Hurco Companies, Inc., a leading CNC machine tool manufacturer, is seeking a meticulous CAD Drafter to join its Engineering team located in Indianapolis, Indiana. This position plays a key support role by providing CAD design and solid modeling assistance to engineers and designers, ensuring correct and up-to-date engineering documentation for the company's advanced machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed mechanical assemblies and component designs utilizing SolidWorks software.
• Develop and keep current Bills of Materials (BOMs) through SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) via Product Data Management (PDM) and Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation including standard operating procedures, technical specifications, part numbers, and configuration sheets.
• Support engineers and designers by generating precise drawings with dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing data.
• Ensure engineering files are accurate, well-organized, and maintained.
• Work collaboratively with various teams to aid new product development and promote continuous process improvements.

Qualifications and Skills

• Associate’s degree in Drafting, Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or a comparable field; equivalent education and experience combinations considered.
• Proven experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software, with preference for SolidWorks expertise.
• Demonstrated ability to produce detailed mechanical drawings and assemblies.
• Familiar with Bills of Materials and engineering document control.
• Preferred experience using Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
• Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or other ERP platforms is advantageous.
• AutoCAD skills considered a plus.
• Competent in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• High attention to detail, excellent organizational abilities, and capable of managing multiple projects efficiently in a dynamic environment.
