Job description
Role Summary
This contract opportunity is for a CAD specialist supporting a client project focused on AI hardware. The position is remote and can be done from anywhere, with compensation offered competitively and aligned to the candidate’s experience.
What You’ll Do
- Create, edit, and refine 3D CAD models for mechanical parts used in AI hardware systems.
- Review designs carefully to check structural strength, thermal behavior, and ease of manufacturing.
- Work closely with engineering and related teams to address design issues and incorporate feedback from simulations and testing.
- Prepare production-ready technical materials such as drawings, assembly guides, and bills of materials.
- Make sure all designs follow relevant industry standards and any client-specific rules needed for validation and certification.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong command of 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Fusion 360.
- At least 3 years of practical experience in CAD work.
- Background in designing mechanical components for hardware systems, ideally in technology or AI infrastructure.
- Good working knowledge of GD&T and precision mechanical design practices.
- Ability to read technical specifications and convert them into CAD models that can be manufactured.
- Familiarity with simulation and validation tools such as ANSYS or COMSOL for thermal and structural analysis.
