About Jetstar
Jetstar is known for offering low fares, and since launching in Australia in 2004 it has carried more than 400 million customers. The airline operates about 3,000 flights each week across nearly 40 destinations in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific, with a fleet of more than 80 aircraft including Airbus A320/21 NEO, Airbus A320 family aircraft and Boeing 787-8s.
The company describes its teams as the people who make the network work, supporting smooth travel experiences every day.
Role overview
This is a permanent, part-time airport role based at Melbourne Airport. The position sits within Jetstar’s Airport Crew team, supporting both safety and customer experience while helping flights leave on time.
Airport Crew members are the frontline representatives of the airline, welcoming travellers, supporting airport processes and making sure policies and procedures are followed, including customer service standards, check-in requirements and customs, immigration and quarantine rules.
Cabin Baggage Officer duties
In the Cabin Baggage Officer function, you will be the first point of contact at the gate, helping ensure boarding is fair, safe and punctual. The role involves speaking with customers, checking and tagging cabin luggage, handling excess baggage situations, taking payments when needed and resolving issues professionally while keeping the experience positive.
Customer Service Officer duties
In the Customer Service Officer function, you will support travellers from check-in through to boarding. Tasks include assisting with kiosks, processing bookings, helping with delayed or disrupted flights, reuniting customers with baggage and providing extra support to passengers who need it. You will work with multiple airport teams, share accurate information and help keep operations running smoothly.
