Job description

About the Role

The Buying Manager will lead the Hamleys Buying Strategy, engaging deeply in all facets of business operations including product and brand identification, supplier cost comparison, strategic planning, and sourcing activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in negotiations with vendors and foster positive, long-lasting vendor relationships.
  • Manage contract renewals to achieve improved terms annually, focusing on margins, payment conditions, and rebates.
  • Approve new product lines and their allocation on a weekly basis.
  • Authorize quarterly assortment plans by store and regional locations.
  • Conduct comprehensive market analyses on a monthly basis, covering both regional and global trends.
  • Evaluate current purchasing performance and implement system enhancements to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with the Operations and Marketing teams to execute effective business strategies.

Requirements

  • Between 4 and 6 years of experience in a senior buyer position.
  • Proven background in the toys retail sector.
  • Experience with both local and international markets.
  • Currently residing in the UAE or willing to relocate there.
