Role overview
This permanent Buyer / Procurement Specialist position is based in Dundalk, Ireland, with an office-based or hybrid working setup. The role sits within a fast-growing technology business that delivers ICT, security, and critical infrastructure solutions for major data centre projects throughout Europe.
You will join a business working on complex, mission-critical assignments and gain hands-on exposure to procurement, commercial, and supply chain work across large-scale construction and technology projects. The position is suited to someone who wants long-term career growth in a high-demand sector.
What you will do
- Purchase electrical, mechanical, ICT, security, and power infrastructure materials and components.
- Request supplier pricing and assess quotations.
- Handle negotiations around cost, delivery timelines, and contract terms.
- Create purchase orders and follow procurement timelines.
- Develop and preserve effective working relationships with suppliers.
- Review supplier performance in relation to quality, price, and delivery reliability.
- Work alongside project, engineering, commercial, and logistics teams.
- Keep procurement activity aligned with project schedules and delivery targets.
- Spot opportunities to reduce costs and limit supply chain exposure.
- Assist with material tracking and logistics support across multiple project sites.
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation and reporting.
- Follow company processes, health and safety expectations, and contractual obligations.
What we are looking for
- Experience in a Buyer, Procurement Specialist, or Supply Chain position.
- Good commercial judgement and confidence in negotiation.
- Background in construction, engineering, ICT, security, or data centre settings.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
- Practical experience using Excel and procurement systems.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a busy project environment.
- A detail-focused, proactive, and practical problem-solving approach.
Desirable background
- Previous exposure to data centre or mission-critical projects would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of procurement for electrical, mechanical, ICT, or security infrastructure is helpful.
- Experience with ERP or MRP systems is desirable.
- Understanding of European supplier networks and supply chain operations is beneficial.
