Role Overview

We seek a Buyer to procure essential technical components integral to our railway diagnostic and measurement systems. This position involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring all parts comply with stringent railway safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase components such as sensors, electronics, and embedded systems used in diagnostic equipment.
  • Oversee procurement processes from supplier evaluation through to order execution.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to interpret technical requirements and verify compliance.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms with international vendors aligned to company standards.
  • Ensure all procured parts conform to railway safety standards including EN 50126 and EN 50128.
  • Monitor purchase orders, inventory status, and timelines using the company’s ERP system.
  • Evaluate supplier performance regularly and implement continuous improvements in quality and delivery.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities by assessing alternative suppliers without compromising on technical specifications.
  • Adhere to procurement policies and comply with industry regulations throughout the process.

Candidate Profile

  • 3 to 6 years of procurement experience, preferably in high-technology or railway/transport sectors.
  • Proven expertise in sourcing components relevant to railway diagnostics, including sensors and embedded electronics.
  • Successful track record of negotiating with global suppliers balancing cost efficiency with quality and technical demands.
  • Familiarity with railway safety and quality standards such as EN 50126 and EN 50128.
  • Proficient with ERP systems like SAP for procurement tracking.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent team collaboration skills and experience working with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical capabilities emphasizing precision and reliability.
  • Fluent in German and English languages.
