Overview
A confidential employer based in Abu Dhabi is looking to hire an experienced Butler to manage both service and operational aspects of a private residence. The successful applicant will deliver exceptional personalized service to the principal and their guests, while efficiently overseeing the household's daily activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-standard Butler services tailored to the principal, family members, and visiting guests.
- Serve as the primary contact for all service and operational needs within the household.
- Guarantee the residence meets stringent standards for cleanliness, organization, presentation, and functionality.
- Supervise household staff including housekeeping personnel, drivers, cooks, gardeners, and additional support roles.
- Perform routine property inspections and address any housekeeping, maintenance, or operational concerns promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with maintenance teams, security personnel, landscapers, drivers, and third-party contractors to ensure smooth household operations.
- Oversee maintenance and repair scheduling and follow-through until tasks are successfully completed.
- Manage the household inventory ensuring sufficient supplies of food, beverages, cleaning products, linens, and other essentials.
- Organize procurement, receiving deliveries, and coordinating external services while maintaining quality and timely execution.
- Prepare the residence meticulously to welcome the principal and guests at all times.
- Provide both formal and informal dining services including setting tables, serving food and drinks, wine service, and greeting guests.
- Help to plan and facilitate private dinners, social gatherings, and special events.
- Anticipate the preferences and requirements of the principal and guests, ensuring requests are managed discreetly and swiftly.
- Engage with suppliers, contractors, and service providers as necessary on behalf of the household.
- Assist with budget management focusing on household expenses and purchasing controls.
- Identify and remedy operational inefficiencies through practical solutions.
- Constantly uphold complete confidentiality, discretion, professionalism, and integrity.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years’ Butler experience within private households, luxury residences, family offices, or ultra-luxury hospitality sectors.
- In-depth understanding of luxury household service protocols and VIP client expectations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail coupled with a strong intuition for the needs of principals and guests.
- Proactive, hands-on approach, adaptable to the dynamic requirements of household management.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making competencies.
- Strong commitment to upholding confidentiality, discretion, and professional ethics.
- Fluency in English is essential.
- Flexibility to accommodate the household’s scheduling needs.
