Job description
About the opportunity
Deloitte is hiring a Business Support Lead to join its Auckland or Wellington practice. This role is designed for someone who can combine practical coordination with strategic support, helping portfolios operate smoothly and perform strongly.
You will work with Portfolio Leads in a collaborative, fast-moving environment, contributing more than standard administrative support. The position calls for sound judgement, strong organisation, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to business improvement, reporting, and portfolio coordination.
What you will do
- Partner with Portfolio Leads on daily operations, immediate priorities, and the preparation of reports, presentations, and leadership materials.
- Contribute to annual business planning and monitor progress against key initiatives.
- Handle billing-related work, including WIP tracking, issue resolution, and timely completion of financial processes.
- Create recurring performance reports and review data to identify trends and useful insights for decision-making.
- Set up and run monthly performance meetings and other important forums, including agenda preparation, logistics, and follow-up tracking.
- Coordinate team and portfolio events, from venue arrangements to logistics and stakeholder updates.
- Assist with internal communications and engagement activities across the portfolio.
- Look for process improvements, share ideas proactively, and support continuous improvement efforts.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate brings experience in a comparable role such as a PA, Team Coordinator, or Project Coordinator, preferably in a professional services or corporate setting. You should be highly organised, capable of juggling multiple priorities, and comfortable working in a changing, fast-paced environment.
Strong forward planning, excellent attention to detail, confident communication, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels are important. The role also requires analytical thinking, relationship-building skills, professionalism, discretion with confidential information, and a solutions-focused mindset. Curiosity about how the business works, along with the confidence to question existing processes and suggest better ways of working, will be valued.
