Job description

About the role

Qantas, established in 1920 in the Queensland outback, has developed into Australia’s largest airline group across regional, domestic and international services. Through its main airline brands, Qantas and Jetstar, and a range of subsidiary businesses, the Group supports passenger and freight operations across multiple markets.

This permanent role is based at the Mascot campus in Sydney and sits within the Australasian Sales, Distribution and Modern Retailing function. The team is driving major change in the way Qantas sells, distributes and retails its products, and this position plays a key part in keeping that work on track.

You will work closely with the Executive Manager and senior leaders, supporting a portfolio that includes corporate and SME sales, NDC and modern retailing strategy, agency and OTA channels, and the Jetconnect New Zealand business.

What you will do

The role combines executive assistance with broader business coordination. You will help keep daily operations running smoothly, support project delivery, and contribute to important business initiatives across the region.

Typical work may include managing competing priorities, coordinating stakeholders across regions, preparing documentation for executives, overseeing complex calendars, and supporting global distribution projects. You will also assist with corporate hospitality and event activities, monitor expenses and business processes, and look for ways to improve how the team works.

What you will bring

To succeed in this role, you should have strong experience supporting senior leaders and coordinating business activity in a fast-moving environment. Experience in aviation, travel, or a commercial setting would be especially useful.

You will need to be highly organised, able to handle confidential information with discretion, and comfortable preparing reports, presentations, and executive communications. Strong Microsoft Office capability is essential, while experience using Salesforce and Power BI would be an added advantage.

Why Qantas

Qantas offers a workplace where creativity and passion are valued, along with opportunities to grow personally and professionally. The company provides on-the-job training, coaching, and formal learning options, and many career paths across the wider business.

Employee benefits include heavily discounted air travel within Australia and worldwide for employees and their family and friends, travel and accommodation deals, flexible leave options, 18 weeks of paid parental leave plus superannuation on paid and unpaid parental leave until a child turns 1, and additional purchased leave for eligible staff.

You may also access a wide range of rewards and discounts covering shopping, food and wine, insurance, health and wellbeing, leisure, and entertainment, along with salary packaging options for motor vehicles, eligible portable electronic devices, and professional memberships. Wellbeing support is also available through learning resources, an app, and personalised nutrition guidance.

Additional information

Qantas is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and candidates from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. If you have any support or access needs, you are encouraged to share them at the time of application, and your information will be treated confidentially in line with privacy legislation.

Only applicants with the right to work in Australia or New Zealand without restriction or sponsorship will be considered. Applications close on Friday 3rd July 2026.
