About CIMMYT

CIMMYT is an innovative, non-profit international research organization focused on addressing future agricultural challenges today. It aims to enhance the quantity, quality, and reliability of cereal production systems—such as maize, wheat, triticale, sorghum, millets, and related crops—mainly in the Global South. By fostering partnerships and applied science, CIMMYT improves the livelihoods and resilience of millions of smallholder farmers while promoting a sustainable, productive, and inclusive agrifood system that respects planetary boundaries. It is a key CGIAR Research Center dedicated to reducing poverty, improving food and nutrition security, and conserving natural resources.
