Role overview
In this role, you will act as the finance partner to the Food GM, working closely with Commercial and also collaborating with Finance, Strategy, Product, and Marketing. Your focus will be on helping shape decisions that improve restaurant partner performance and user growth, while translating financial data into clear business guidance.
What you will do
- Work alongside the Food GM as a day-to-day finance partner in commercial steering and strategy discussions.
- Take full ownership of the Food P&L, including revenue, take-rate, contribution margin, and bottom-line performance.
- Collaborate with Account Managers to refine restaurant strategy, commission structures, and shared growth plans.
- Challenge commercial assumptions when the numbers do not support them, and back up your position with analysis.
- Convert complex P&L movements into concise, decision-ready summaries for GMs and senior leaders.
- Build the business case for new initiatives such as commission tiers, exclusivity arrangements, launch deals, and marketing co-investments, including ROI, payback, and risk analysis.
- Partner with Commercial on promotion planning by modeling discount effects, basket behavior, customer lifetime value, and margin trade-offs.
- Identify risks and opportunities in the Food P&L before they appear in actual results, and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain BI dashboards, reporting, and data pipelines that convert raw data into actionable scorecards and self-serve insights.
What you bring
- A strong background in FP&A, commercial finance, or business partnering, with a history of working closely with commercial teams.
- Good command of revenue models, unit economics, take-rate, and margin drivers.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills and comfort handling large, messy datasets.
- The ability to present financial insights clearly and confidently to GM and leadership audiences.
- A constructive, opinionated approach that includes the confidence to push back when the analysis suggests a different direction.
- Experience working in fast-moving, ambiguous, high-growth environments where structure is built along the way.
Nice-to-have experience
- Seven or more years of experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or business finance, preferably within food delivery, quick commerce, marketplaces, e-commerce, or other tech-enabled consumer businesses.
- Direct exposure to commercial or account management stakeholders.
- Practical understanding of restaurant unit economics, pricing, promotion mechanics, and customer incentives.
- Hands-on use of planning platforms such as TM1 / IBM Planning Analytics or similar tools, plus BI tools like Power BI or Tableau.
