Job description
Role Overview
Mindflight7 NZ offers immersive virtual reality educational experiences to schools throughout New Zealand. We are seeking two part-time Business Development Specialists to expand our reach to more educational institutions. This position is tailored for seasoned professionals who require genuine scheduling flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify potential schools and initiate contact through personalised cold emails and phone outreach.
- Establish and nurture relationships with school principals and lead teachers to secure VR session bookings.
- Manage lead conversion over a typical decision-making period of 2 to 4 weeks.
- Maintain and monitor your sales pipeline while providing feedback and insights to the team.
- Collaborate within a team sales environment fostering joint efforts rather than independent work.
Distinctive Features
- Work aligned with school hours: no night or weekend shifts.
- Remote-first setup relying mainly on email and phone communication from home.
- Self-directed scheduling with a focus on results, not hours logged.
- Expected commitment of approximately 3 to 4 days weekly during school terms.
- Supportive team environment with another specialist position available.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a formal qualification in any field.
- Experience in customer-facing roles such as sales, account management, or client services across industries.
- Excellent written communication skills capable of crafting effective emails.
- Self-driven and comfortable working independently.
- Genuine passion for education.
- Must hold a valid New Zealand driver's license and have access to a personal vehicle.
Additional advantages include: prior exposure to the education sector, experience in business-to-business sales, or a background in educational technology.
Ideal Candidates
This role suits parents re-entering the workforce, individuals changing careers, semi-retired professionals, or anyone with strong communication skills seeking meaningful work that accommodates personal life.
Note: No prior experience with VR or technology is required; comprehensive product training will be provided.
Position Details
- Location preference: Auckland, but applicants from other New Zealand regions are welcome.
- Work style: Flexible scheduling during school hours.
- Number of openings: 2.
