Role Overview
This role is primarily remote with occasional travel to the Dublin office and industry events. It offers flexibility for both full-time and part-time candidates. The focus is on expanding the client base, generating new leads, and fostering lasting relationships with prospective customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and explore new business prospects in designated markets.
- Adopt an organised and persistent strategy to generate leads consistently.
- Engage potential customers proactively via outbound calls, email campaigns, networking on professional platforms, and referrals.
- Hand over qualified leads to the technical sales team, and measure success against set business development targets.
- Establish and nurture relationships with senior decision-makers such as Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing Managers as well as Project Engineers.
- Understand clients' needs to propose appropriate solutions and opportunities.
- Maintain an active and healthy sales pipeline of potential clients.
- Collaborate closely with sales and engineering teams to drive business growth.
- Participate in customer meetings, industry exhibitions, networking sessions, and conferences.
- Meet performance indicators connected to business development activities, pipeline expansion, and revenue targets.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of three years’ experience in business development, sales, or account management within a B2B context.
- Documented success in generating new business and nurturing long-term client partnerships.
- Strong commercial sense complemented by excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation talents.
- Comfortable interacting with technically-minded stakeholders and learning about new technologies.
- Self-driven with capability to operate independently, especially in remote settings.
- Familiarity with CRM tools to track and manage sales activities.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience selling engineering, manufacturing, or industrial technical solutions.
- Knowledge of automation, engineering, medical device, or pharmaceutical sectors is a plus but not mandatory.
- Background in consultative or solution-oriented sales environments.
