Job description

About the Company

GitLab is a DevSecOps orchestration platform that helps organizations boost developer productivity, streamline operations, lower security and compliance exposure, and speed up digital transformation. The platform is used by more than 50 million registered users and is trusted by over half of the Fortune 100.

The company culture is built around high performance, continuous learning, and strong collaboration. GitLab also expects team members to use AI as a regular part of their work to improve speed, quality, and impact.

Role Overview

This is a fully remote position based in Saudi Arabia. The role sits within GitLab's Sales organization and focuses on creating early-stage pipeline for enterprise and mid-market accounts. The BDR will work closely with Field and Digital Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams to identify prospects, start meaningful conversations, and generate qualified meetings and opportunities.

GitLab provides structured onboarding and training so new hires can build the product and DevOps knowledge needed to succeed. The team includes people from many different professional backgrounds, including candidates with prior closing or team management experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run outbound prospecting efforts to create qualified meetings and pipeline in the assigned territory.
  • Hold discovery conversations with target accounts to uncover business needs, evaluate fit, and create Sales Accepted Opportunities.
  • Work toward monthly and quarterly SAO goals by converting qualified prospects into opportunities.
  • Study and rank target accounts using industry and business insight to identify decision-makers, important trigger events, and tailored outreach angles.
  • Carry out a multi-channel outreach sequence through phone, email, social platforms, and other touchpoints using Outreach.io.
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach, activity, and pipeline in Salesforce for visibility and forecasting.
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to build account lists, campaigns, and calling plans, and attend regional marketing events to engage attendees and generate leads.
  • Help document and improve BDR processes in the GitLab handbook and support onboarding of new BDR teammates.
  • Use AI tools such as GitLab Duo, Claude, or similar products to improve research, personalize communication, and automate parts of the workflow.

Requirements

  • Strong phone presence, active listening, and clear written communication.
  • Ability to consistently meet daily, weekly, and monthly performance targets.
  • Track record of taking initiative and independently driving work to completion.
  • Comfort working in line with GitLab's values.
  • Understanding of business processes, roles, and organizational structures.
  • Persistence, resilience, and a habit of learning from setbacks.
  • Genuine interest in contributing to GitLab's growth.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
  • Comfort using AI tools for research, writing, and workflow support.
  • Previous experience in technology, sales development, marketing, or sales is an added advantage.
  • Strong command of English, which is the company's working language.

Team and Work Environment

The role is part of a growing sales team that collaborates closely with marketing, sales, and customer success. GitLab provides broad onboarding and ongoing training to help team members understand the product, the DevOps space, and internal processes.

Benefits

  • Benefits designed to support health, finances, and overall well-being.
  • Flexible paid time off.
  • Team member resource groups.
  • Equity compensation and an employee stock purchase plan.
  • Growth and development fund.
  • Parental leave.
